Germany’s RADAR ensemble brings the musical and artistic explorations of the 21st and late 20th centuries to an international audience. Diverse, adventurous programming with a focus on incorporating improvisation, performance art, and multimedia elements are the backbone of RADAR’s performances. The energy and vibrancy of the young ensemble can be experienced in the various instrumentations of the ensemble, ranging from duo to chamber orchestra.
Through creative dialogue with composers from various cultural backgrounds as well as collaboration with contemporary dance, art, video and theater artists, the RADAR ensemble is breaking the sonic and aesthetic borders of contemporary music performance.
RADAR is the Ensemble in Residence for the “Klangrauschen” concert series in Lübeck and has recently been featured at the Rheinsberg Palace, the Poznan Spring Festival, the Blurred Edges Festival, the Hamburg Academy of the Arts, Musica Nova, and on Deutschlandfunk (German Radio).
The ensemble’s soloists have performed at virtually every major European festival and new music venue including IRCAM, Donaueschingen, ZKM, Darmstadt, Salzburg Biennale, MärzMusik, Warsaw Autumn, Ars Musica, Vienna Modern, Huddersfield, Klangspuren, ECLAT, and Gaudeamus to name a few.
