The duo Azadeh Maghsoodi / Ninon Gloger stands for virtuosity, passion and love of music, which they express in their varied and captivating concerts. As accomplished crossover specialists, the two musicians play a programme that ranges from the classics of Rimsky-Korsakov, Brahms and Dvořák to the tango of Piazzolla, effortlessly integrating the modern sounds of Fazil Say as well as their own arrangements of Persian pop music. The two classically trained musicians bring their great interest in different musical cultures to their varied programme in an unmistakable way.
At the age of 15, Azadeh Maghsoodi stood on stage with star violinist Nigel Kennedy and attracted international attention overnight: "Azadeh has a fantastic technique. But she also has this truth and beauty of sound that shows what is really in the music. That is very rare, not just for a young person, but for any musician."
A classically trained pianist, Ninon Gloger is distinguished by her special talent for a genre-bending language of sound. A recognised specialist in contemporary and theatre music, she is a sound explorer and songwriter on the paths beyond the classical tradition. She has recently performed on stage with Ulrich Tukur, Caren Miosga and Charly Hübner.
The Hohenloher Zeitung wrote about the duo: "They are completely immersed in their music ... and devote themselves to the world of sounds, only to flirt with multi-faceted melodies with youthful temperament, great virtuosity, wit and esprit: Azadeh Maghsoodi and Ninon Gloger succeed in truly enchanting their audience with their "TangOrienTales" concert.
